The "Bricks4fun" children's play center is located in a busy tourist spot on the Dubai waterfront. This is a place where children can have fun for a couple of hours under the supervision of qualified staff while parents visit one of the many restaurants or shopping centers located nearby. The theme of the place is Lego constructors and everything connected with them.
The dominant color in all rooms is rich yellow. Firstly, it is a recognizable Lego brand color. Secondly, a bright background visually “gathers” chaos from small colorful crafts and details of designers, giving a sense of orderliness.
The upper part of the walls is decorated with white and gray horizontal stripes. Such stripes of white and gray bricks are often found in Lego sets. Here, this simple technique makes the tall (4.5 meter) space more proportional for the child and gives the feeling that he is inside a large Lego craft.
The most obvious motif associated with Lego is the colorful bricks. Throughout the interior there are elements, as if assembled from them - the reception desk, porcelain stoneware floor in the entrance area, multi-colored carpet tiles in the rest of the rooms.
At the entrance there is a reception desk and shelving where children can leave their street shoes to enter the main room, as well as a small store with Lego sets. Then there are several gaming halls, which are divided by the age of visitors and types of activities. Immediately after the reception, we find ourselves in a spacious room with game tables for children from 6 years old, where they can play with ready-made sets or assemble their designs from the large number of parts available here. Further, separated from the main space by a staircase, there is a hall for the smallest, from 2 to 6 years old, where there are constructors suitable for this age with large details. Stairs lead to the 2nd floor, where there is another game room, a video game room, and an education center that hosts regular Lego-based robotics classes.
Almost all furniture is designed and manufactured specifically for this interior. Several types of game tables, shelving, showcases were designed. Interestingly, in this case, the furniture became the starting point for the overall solution. Due to the very tight deadlines, immediately after the planning was agreed upon, while the builders were busy with rough work, it was necessary to place an order for its manufacture to the factory. So first there was a design of a table with supports made of multi-colored stripes, and then this motif was repeated and developed in other elements of the interior.
